New Forms Festival ‚2010
Call for Volunteers

Hey peeps!

We need volunteers for this year’s New Forms Festival, a convergence of media art, electronic music and digital culture featuring Omar-S, Love and Electrik, Blue Daisy and many more.

Lots of well-connected personalities in the local and international arts scene will be attending The Festival and volunteering will be a great way to network.

All volunteers will receive a festival pass.

Check out the available positions below. If you find yourself available for more than one of the positions, please let us know! If you can’t make it but you know of someone who would be right for one of the jobs, spread the word!

2 days/week, from September 1 to 10
Street team needed to distribute flyers to record stores, boutiques, etc, around town leading up to the event, as well as putting up posters in high-traffic areas.

September 10, 11, 12 and 18 (evening)
Need people to greet patrons, handle guestlist, collect tickets and accept cash door sales. Coatcheck people will ensure items checked in remain safe and are returned to the correct patron.

September 7 to 10 (Tuesday to Friday)
Picking up artists and attendees at airport and driving them to their hotels. Confirmed arrivals/departures on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, and runners will need to be on call for the other days in case more people need transport. You must have your own vehicle.

Basic technical knowledge required (knowledge of basic cables, mic names, types of lights, etc). Previous experience doing tech for concerts and/or events an asset.

September 9 (Thursday)
2 people needed to assist sound technicians, lighting technicians and VJs with setup inside the venue.

September 10, 11, 12 and 18
1 person needed to assist sound and lighting technicians during actual events, on both nights.

September 18 and 19 (Friday and Saturday evening)
Security volunteers needed for New Forms Media Festival. Security will be in charge of checking IDs and crowd control at the door, as well as the safety of patrons inside the venue. Previous security experience is an asset.

September 18 and 19 (Friday and Saturday evening)
- Bartenders -
We need bartenders for both nights. You must have your serving it right and some bartending experience. Although this is a volunteer position and there is no hourly wage, there is a large tips potential.
- Bussers -
Bussers are also needed for both nights. You don’t need your serving it right. Previous bussing or restaurant experience is helpful but not required.

Thank you for your interest. For more information, contact me!
