Robert Arnold (Cuthead) first cut his teeth as a DJ in Dresden’s beat and hip hop scene where he organized the now infamous Kunst:stoff Breakz parties. With his strong hip hop influence and love for techno, Arnold adeptly produces music in various styles, tending draw from his two main loves, hip hop and house, while rejecting the confines of any specific genre. Producing sample-heavy music, he rarely uses synthesizers, but creates sounds with samplers like the Roland 404, Zoom Sampletrak and Korg ESX, looking for weird harmonies and unexpected turns. He has released the EPs Brother (2011), and Everlasting Sunday (2013) on Uncanny Valley, download-only albums Murdoc (2008) and City Slicker (2010) with Kunst:stoff Breakz and taken part in the Red Bull Academy in Barcelona (2008). Arnold has collaborated with fellow Dresden native and New Forms performer, Jacob Korn, on a new production, Sur la Plage (2014).
